The Tech Contracts Handbook by David W. Tollen is a practical reference manual and training guide on cloud computing agreements, software licenses, and other IT contracts. It is intended for both lawyers and businesspeople – including contract managers, procurement officers, in-house and outside counsel, salespeople, and anyone else responsible for getting IT deals done. Perhaps, most important, it uses clear, simple English, like a good contract.
The main benefit for the Handbook is the division of core and boilerplates clauses, which makes it spot on.
However, as most books drafted by lawyers, it fails on execution of the contracts during its lifetime. This is mayby not so important for the pure license agreements, but much more important for any parts that covers any development. For serving the pre-contract and legal parts of contracts it clearly does its job.
